Meet The Borges! - April 2019
Samantha and Cody Borges and their new baby daughter live on White Street. They have been members of the neighborhood for only a few months, but love being here. Originally from south Louisiana, the Borges have always loved the old, southern, New Orleans-style homes, so they always admired the Garden District when driving through it. When they began looking for homes after they learned they were having a baby, they knew they wanted to be in the Garden District Neighborhood. About our neighborhood, they say it is "so close to everything and still has super great neighbors that look out for each other." The Borges met when they were thirteen and fourteen years old and have been together for almost 10 years, but only married for two of them. They both work full-time at Christian Worship Center where Samantha creates all the design and video work, while Cody works for the bible college, Bridge University, though Samantha admits, "we all wear multiple hats to get the job done!" Samantha loves taking pictures and represents herself as Borges Photography on Facebook and Instagram, and Cody is currently studying for the MCAT. They have one cat, Oliver, who likes to pretend he doesn't like them, but still snuggles up with them at night when he thinks they are asleep.
Meet The Byrams - Feb 2019
Joel and Alison Byram have lived in the Garden District neighborhood for 2 years now on Marye Street. Joel works in HR with Roy O Martin and Alison is the Assistant Director at First United Methodist Preschool and Childcare. Alison grew up in Alexandria and Joel is originally from New Orleans. They met at Louisiana Tech University, got married and now have 2 beautiful children, Thomas (5y) and Ruby Sue (10m). They love “get togethers”, being with family, and playing disc golf! They have 2 crazy pups named Lady and Sweetie, and most of the families around them have met the Bassett Hound, Sweetie, who is a rescue and an escape artist! We love the character and diversity of the Garden District, we NEED that taste of NOLA!
