2018 SELECTION CRITERIA AND RULES
This year’s Tour Committee will strive to highlight the variety of architectural styles, the historical significance, and the aesthetic beauty of living in the Garden District area. The 5th Annual Garden District Holiday Tour of Homes will take place December 15th from 3-7pm.
GARDEN DISTRICT HOLIDAY TOUR OF HOMES RULES
Site Visits: Each project must be available for viewing by the HomeTour committee between the dates of August 1st and 30th. The committee will schedule the respective time and date with the home owner to view the home and confirm the scheduled time and date.
Final Selections: Tour homes should be announced by September 1, 2018.
Upon selection for the Tour, each homeowner will be required to fill out a questionnaire about the house and sign agreements to abide by the Holiday Tour of Homes rules.
The homeowner and at least 3 other representatives of the homeowner must be present in the home during the tour. There must be a person available to greet visitors at the front door and sufficient volunteers in the home to ensure hospitality and safety of all individuals and the home.
Homeowners or representative must be available for media coverage and photography prior to the tour. Every attempt to give advance notice will be made. The identification of the owners will be withheld from publication if requested. The Holiday Tour of Homes strives to obtain any and all media outlets for thorough coverage of the tour.
Sponsorship: No materials or representation may be displayed in the home without being previously approved by the Holiday Tour of Homes Committee. This includes the builders, subcontractors, installers, the owner’s place of business or affiliation, realtors, interior designers, etc
Any home chosen should be residential in nature and will not be on the real estate market within the time span of the 2018 through end of April 2019.
Disqualification: The Home Tour Committee reserves the right to disqualify any selected home if the above rules are not adhered to at any time.
